Killzone 3 released!
We have continued working with Guerrilla over the past two years, researching and developing new technology. Their PS3 epic Killzone 3 was released this week and looks utterly spectacular.
If you’d like to find out more about Second Intention’s contribution to Killzone 3, come to Will’s GDC presentation on Thursday morning, where he will talk in detail about the SPU-based occlusion system we created for the title:
Practical Occlusion Culling on PS3
Killzone 2 released
Last year we completed our fourth and fifth research and development contracts for Guerrilla, building technology for their groundbreaking PS3 title Killzone 2. The game is out now and has gathered hugely positive feedback from both press and players.
Will says: “I had a fantastic time working with the Guerrilla tech team these last three years, and it’s been very rewarding to see the boxes on store shelves and finally sit down to play the game in my living room. The team at Guerrilla should be very proud of what they’ve created!”
If you are interested in learning more about the technology behind the game, including some of our contributions, you should come to Michiel’s lecture at GDC09 in March.
New client: Tech Soft 3D
We are delighted to announce that we have been working with Tech Soft 3D on a regular basis since 2006.
Via a mixture of on-site visits and remote working, Will has consulted on the design and ongoing development of the shader-based HOOPS 3D DirectX9 display driver. This process has resulted in a slew of new high-performance and high-quality rendering features for HOOPS 3D applications.
